Add a load from a rate confirmation PDF
Drop a broker rate confirmation PDF into freightline and AI fills in the load number, broker, rate and every stop. Review the fields, assign a driver and save.
Typing a rate confirmation into a TMS by hand is slow and easy to get wrong. In freightline you drop the PDF on the new-load form, AI reads it and fills in the fields, and you check them before anything is saved. Owners and dispatchers can create loads.
Steps
- Go to Loads and press New load (the same button is on the dashboard).
- In the Rate Confirmation AI parse box, drop the PDF on Drop Rate Confirmation PDF or click to browse, or click it and pick the file. You’ll see “Reading the rate con…” while it reads.
- The From rate con section fills in: load number, broker, rate, trailer type, temperature, weight, commodity and special instructions, plus every pickup and delivery stop with its address, date, time and reference number. Multi-stop loads come in with all their stops.
- Read the message under the drop box. “Form pre-filled with N stops” means the parser was confident; “Some fields may need review” means check everything carefully. freightline also looks the broker up in FMCSA and shows a warning if its authority isn’t active.
- Check the rate, dates and stops against the PDF. Press Calculate next to Miles to get the route miles from the stops.
- Pick the Driver, Truck and Trailer (and a Co-driver (team) or Dispatcher if you use them), then press Save load. The PDF is attached to the load as its rate confirmation.
File limits
- Only PDF files can be read by the AI parser. Photos of a rate con can’t be parsed on this form.
- The parser reads files up to 4 MB. A bigger PDF (up to 30 MB) can’t be read automatically, but it is still attached to the load when you save — fill the form in by hand.
- Nothing is saved until you press Save load, so a wrong parse costs you nothing.
